What message does Make Architect’s “Information Centre” convey about the City of London? Does it tell visitors that London is an amazing city with amazing things to do and see? Will residents view it as a physical manifestation of the City’s self-love? Given the result, I believe that Make Architect’s had all those physiological considerations in mind during the design phase.

From a built form perspective, the triangular plan of the Centre was derived by analyzing pedestrian movement across the site. The profile and general orientation of the building responds to the St. Paul’s Cathedral, creating an interesting dialogue between vastly different architectural philosophies.

For me, this is a great example of designers and City agencies loving their city and treating people with the respect they deserve. I know that may seem like hyperbolic praise for an Information Centre, but when you consider this type of municipal infrastructure in the aggregate sense, you start to see how important all of the pieces – big or small – matter to the whole picture.

You would definitely appreciate that beautiful coastline just sitting on the rocks, but the addition of an intriguing building seems to make things just a bit more interesting.

It’s either a cool building with an incredible landscape, or a beautiful landscape with an ace building attached. Regardless, it’s inspiration in physical form.

When you're attracted to a beautiful person, you want them to be as amazing on the inside as they look on the outside right? Unfortunately, that’s not always the case. However, if you could find someone who was the equivalent of the Greenwich Street Project’s Schein Loft, you’d be good for life.

A dovecote is an older English term for a pigeon coop, and the addition to this derelict version is meant to be a creative space for musicians. I wonder if that connection will further inspire the musicians to drop that ill shit?

Hill House by Andrew Maynard Architects

What immediately struck me about the design of the Hill House was not the illusion of an emerging hill or the cantilevered second storey, but rather the decision of the architect to incorporate the forgotten backyard into the life of the house.
