While most people will get caught up in the game of megapixels – a game that the D800 plays exceptionally well, boasting a whopping 36.3 megapixel sensor – the real measure of any DSLR is how it handles white balance and how it operates in low light situations (which can arguably become a conversation about lenses).

The D800 however has a whole slew of upgrades, but what a lot of people have been really waiting for (myself included) is the ability to record video. Now that the day has arrived, I can quit my day job as a photographer, and realize my dream as a director... just kidding.

The only downside to this story is that the D800 will be retailing for about $3000 and up (depending on which model you get), which is about $1000 more expensive than the D700. Either way, we're still copping. For all you photog junkies, head over to Gizmodo to read about it in more detail.
